Journey continues..
Gita, in verse 2.22, says that just as a man gives up an old garment and puts on a new one, the soul discards the old body and assumes a new one through the process of incarnation. The law of karma plays a significant role in this process. The crucial aspect of this journey is whether you evolve and progress or become entangled in the cycle of birth and rebirth.
Rituals provide momentum
In Vedic culture, it is explicitly mentioned that the rituals performed by the departed person’s offspring or by a specified
(i.e., the one who has authority) person on behalf of him, give momentum or support the soul’s journey. These rituals serve as a way to honor the deceased and ensure their well-being in the afterlife.
